I’ve been playing with a Canon 50mm f/1.2L lens for the past couple of days thanks to Canon Professional Services, and have been overwhelmed by the quality of the bokeh. The 50mm f/1.4 is no slouch, either, and I’m not convinced that I need to upgrade just yet, but for the mean time, I’m going to make hay while the sun shines… which is why John Schreiber got the same treatment later yesterday afternoon, at the conclusion of the judging of the last week of the Pictures of the Year International photojournalism contest:
